The Terracotta Army is a large group of stone soldier figures created in around 210 BCE and were discovered in 1974 by farmers in Xian. The figures vary in role and appearance, and number around 9,000 in total, the majority of which are still buried. They were created as funerary art for the First Emperor of Qin around 210-209 BCE, in the hopes that the soldiers will defend him in his next life. The mausoleum's construction started in 246 BCE and required about 700,000 workers, and no two soldiers are identical. The Terracotta Army is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty, one of the strongest dynasties in Chinese history. It was originally 5 stories tall (it currently has 7 stories) before it was rebuilt in 704 during Empress Wu Zetian's rule and renovated during the Ming Dynasty. In front of the pagoda is a statue of Xuanzang, a monk who brought China and India together during the Tang Dynasty.

The city wall of Xian is one of the oldest surviving city walls in China, dating back to its original construction in 194 BCE. Its current incarnation was built by the Ming Dynasty in 1370, measuring 13.7 kilometers long, compared to the original wall's length of 25.7 kilometers; however, the newer wall is much thicker than the original wall.

Lishan Mountain is located in the northeastern part of Xian and was a royal retreat location during the Tang Dynasty. It is said that this is the place where Emperor Xuan Zong made his vows to Lady Yang, and where the Zhou Dynasty's decline started.
